CDBG Small Business Loan program

The Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) have two loan programs: Microenterprise Loan Program and the Economic Development Assistance Loan Program.

Microenterprise Program

The Microenterprise program loans $1,500 to $15,000 for working capital, supplies, fixtures, furniture, equipment, or working materials. The program's mission is to:

  • Help entrepreneurs and small businesses startup and grow succesfully,
  • Create new jobs
  • Increase opportunities for low and moderate income persons
  • Expand opportunities for minority and women owned businesses
  • Provide technical assistance to small business.

Economic Development Assistance Fund

The Economic Development Assistance Program helps small businesses create and retain jobs for low and moderate income individuals. The loans are from $15,000 to $140,000 and proceeds can be used for facade improvement, equipment purchases, leasehold improvements, new construction, real estate acquisition or rehabilitation, on and off-site improvements and payment protection.

Businesses must have been in operation for at least one year.
