The GP-1 form registers general partnerships with the California Secretary of State. It is NOT a partnership agreement.
Limited partnerships should file form LP-1.

Forms to use Certificate of General Partnership
Where to file General partnerships have the choice of filing this form with the California Secretary of State or filing a fictitious name statement with their county clerk. Because fictitious name statements require newspaper publications, the cost is about the same. We have included this form because it is a bit simpler to do.
How to complete the form
LinesWhat to enter
1Partnership name.
2Address: No P.O. Boxes! Don't abbreviate the city name.
3Only use if your partnership's executive office is out of state.
4Leave blank (unless your partnership formed prior to July 1, 1984).
5List all general partners. If you have more than four, attach their names and addresses on a separate page.
